Biography
My father (Stage name, Eddie Summers) was a semi professional singer of swing, his career span over 40 years, from the 1940’s through to the 1970’s. In 1944 my father competed in the first ever ‘X’ Factor of its time, Swoonatra, an event aimed at finding Britain’s very own Frank Sinatra. Swoonatra was held at The Royal Opera House, London, my father came second, winning £25.00 for singing “That Old Black Magic". His passion for music influenced me to begin my very own journey with swing music.
I love singing, always have, just like my father, I love singing in the distinctive style of Frank Sinatra, with my other influences from great artists such as Dean Martin, Nat King Cole, Roger Millar, Andy Williams, Sammy Davis Jr, Tony Bennett and of course the king Elvis Presley.
Three years ago I got my break; I was attending a social evening at Eaton Golf course Norwich, the evening was drawing to a close and the chairman asked me if I would like to sing, I jumped at the chance, and the rest as they say is history!
I regularly perform at corporate events, weddings and special occasions for people in Norwich; I have played at the following venues:
Eaton Golf Club, Bawburgh Golf Club, Oasis Sports and Leisure Club, The Crown Plaza Hotel - Leeds, The Village Hotel - Leeds, Rudding Hall – Harrogate.
I can perform with a 3 piece live band or completely self contained, singing to the finest and most exclusive professional backing tracks available and if requested I can play appropriate music in between live performances for the evening.
